Important security tips you must know
All of us at Sentinel Alarm are committed to providing you and your
family with peace of mind when at home or away from
home. Therefore, we have prepared a list of important security tips for you to review
before taking that fabulous vacation you've been planning all year.
Home Security Check List
- Test your alarm system, in conjunction with Sentinel, at
least one week prior to your departure.
- If you have a public security service in your area, contact
them and let them know that you will be away.
- Make sure that the information Sentinel has in its database
is current, including the names and telephone number of an authorized and available key
holder.
- Anyone entering your home during your absence must know what
to do in the event that the alarm rings and should be aware of all necessary emergency
procedures.
- Cancel newspaper deliveries to your home.
Safety & Fire Tips When Traveling
- Do not answer the door to your hotel room without verifying
who it is.
- Close your hotel door securely and use all of the door
locking mechanisms.
- Be sure to leave your extra money and valuables in the hotel
safe.
- If a fire should occur, STAY CALM. This will increase your
chances of survival.
- If the door to your hotel room feels hot, do not open it.
- Never use the elevator in case of fire. Take the fire exit
carefully. If the escape route is blocked, return to your room. Close all vents and air
ducts and stuff wet towels and sheets in them and around the doors.
