How to protect you and your family from fire and theft

At Sentinel Alarm, we have taken a strong stand against crime over the years. Everyday, we work to educate our customers on ways in which they can protect their homes, businesses and loved ones from fire, theft and other critical situations.

Here is a strategic plan to ensure that crime and fire doesn't come knocking at your door.

1. Install an integrated fire and smoke detector to your security alarm system. According to industry research, homes and businesses without security alarms are three times as likely to be broken into or destroyed by fire.

A regular smoke detector can fail to operate or may not be loud enough when you and your family are fast asleep. The integrated fire and smoke detectors will sound your security alarm system and notify Sentinel's monitoring station.

2. Keep your home or business well lit. Good lighting is an excellent crime deterrent.

Both exterior and interior lighting are important. Use timers for interior lights when you are planning to be away from your home or business for an extended period.

3. Neighborhood watch.

Forming a Neighborhood Watch Program in connection with your Police or Public Security Department is greatly beneficial to all homeowners. Saying "NO TO CRIME" means being aware of what's going on in your neighborhood and reporting suspicious behavior to the police.
